Sorry I'm Late!
I know you've been holding your breath, sitting on the edges of your seats just waiting for this lovely transmittal from the right cortex.

This issue is all about shameless plugs. Me, Diamond Empress, DVD Factory. But most importantly Forgotten Cats. I know the event I'm going to fill you in on is soon and this issue may be too late to help, but the organization is always there and can always use financial and elbow grease support. Look into it and see if it's a fit for you.

I own lots of fish so cats are a concern for me. Why aren't there any fish charities.....

My shameless plug is purely ego and has nothing to do with business. For the first time in 10 years I'm doing an installation and public viewing of some of my art. I've chosen art that I think has never received the full acclaim it deserves and needs to be seen. Also, it's cool to have your stuff on the wall. Ahhh.

It's hanging at Brewed Awakenings on Main Street in Newark. Just across from the Tan Inn and Grotto's. Joe is a great guy. Stop in, say hello, grab some Joe (not him, the brew) and enjoy yourself. He's an independant and his space is fertile ground for conversation and inspiration. Just ask the myriad folk who've joined me for business meetings there. YOU'LL LOVE IT.

His focus is on Fair Trade coffee and he really does move good product. Try your own business meeting there and let me know how it went. Here are two shots of the space and the art:

Let's have some fun!

I'd like to be your friend first, so get to know me by crawling around my newsletter, friends' sites and my web site. See you next issue!

New Cat Organization Breaking Records
Fundraiser to Help - October 26th

Forgotten Cats (www.forgottencats.org) , a non-profit founded 2 years ago by Felicia Cross was created to humanely control the unwanted cat and kitten population. Most people don’t realize that the vast majority of the kittens handed into shelters are the offspring of homeless cats which at one time were domestic cats who have been lost or abandoned.

Tourmaline – The Birthstone for October
Gem News October 2006, contributed by Alan Sklut of Diamond Empress

According to an ancient Egyptian legend this is the result of the fact that on the long way from the Earth’s heart up towards the sun, Tourmaline traveled along a rainbow. And on its way it collected all the colors of the rainbow. However, the name "Tourmaline” has been derived from the Singhalese expression "tura mali”, which translates as "stone of mixed colors.”
